Dr. James (Jim) Rink specializes in coaching rising leaders in traditional industries. In his role at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dr. Rink is dedicated to advancing manufacturing efficiency and global competitiveness through innovative educational programs and industry collaborations. His work emphasizes sustainability, workforce education, and regional economic development. Jim's blend of industrial leadership and nonprofit service, coupled with his dedication to community and environmental causes, makes him a uniquely effective coach for rising leaders in traditional industries.


With over 35 years of experience in manufacturing, advanced technology, and operational excellence, Jim is an accomplished leader who brings a unique perspective to tackling complex organizational challenges. He is the owner and managing partner at Integrity 360 Leadership (i360L), a consulting firm dedicated to organizational effectiveness, business advising, and coaching. i360L excels in helping organizations clarify, focus, and improve their effectiveness by blending technology, business performance, and individual dignity.


Jim has a remarkable track record of leading global teams across China, Europe, the US, Mexico, and India. His efforts have significantly enhanced manufacturing competitiveness and achieved exceptional results. With over 30 years in leadership, technology, and change management roles within a Fortune 100 company, Jim brings a wealth of experience and insight to his coaching practice. His professional journey has covered various industries, including construction, mining, forestry, and precision components.


Jim's educational background is both diverse and robust. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, a master’s degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the same institution, and an MBA from Northern Illinois University. Additionally, he has completed the Global Leadership for Executives program at Carnegie Mellon University and earned a doctorate in Interdisciplinary Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship from Governors State University.


Jim is deeply committed to community and environmental sustainability. His service includes being an advisory board member for the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a director on his local Workforce Investment Board, and a board member of his regional economic development organization. His community contributions have been honored with Lewis University’s prestigious La Salle Award for extraordinary service and leadership.


Jim's extensive nonprofit background, spanning almost 20 years, has equipped him with the skills to be an effective, supportive, and valued community member. He has served numerous nonprofit organizations as a volunteer, advocate, board member, and executive board leader. In these roles, he has developed expertise in leadership coaching and development, board engagement, and organizational improvement, with a particular focus on workforce development, community development, and education.
