Biography
Jeanan Yasiri Moe is Owner and Principal of Jeanan Yasiri Solutions, LLC, a strategic advising and organizational communications firm that helps leaders and teams navigate change, clarify narrative, and craft corporate and personal biographies. She brings decades of cross-sector experience across healthcare, higher education and the media. Jeanan is an executive coach and certified (ACC) through the International Coaching Federation as well as (CEC) the Center for Executive Coaching.
An experienced board leader, Jeanan holds the Certified Director designation (National Association of Corporate Directors) and Private Company Governance certification (Private Directors Association). She chairs the board of the Give Back Foundation and serves on the Edgewood University Board of Trustees (Chair, Governance & Nominating). Her public-sector and corporate board work has included partnerships with organizations managing M+A, succession planning, and national health crises including pandemic communications. Jeanan serves as the Director of Strategic Communications and Public Affairs at the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF), the world’s premier and first university technology transfer organization which, in 2025, is celebrating 100 years of service to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the state of Wisconsin, the nation and the world. At WARF, Jeanan leads initiatives that promote WARF's mission to support university research, commercialization, and investment. She initially joined WARF as a consultant in 2006 to lead campus and biotech industry engagement which contributed to planning the Discovery Building,
As the Chief Planning and Innovation Officer for Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin (GHC-SCW), Jeanan’s executive portfolio included Strategic Business Planning, Marketing and Communications, Product Development, Wellness Programs, Community Outreach and Organizational Philanthropy. She led the award-winning GHC Better Together Project, an initiative that educated and engaged thousands in the community on the Affordable Care Act.
Jeanan's academic contributions include over 26 years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. There she held various appointments, including Executive Director of the UW Center for Nonprofits. She taught nine courses such as “Entrepreneurship in Society,” which engaged hundreds of students with nationally recognized entrepreneurs. Her work at UW also included producing over 40 programs for nonprofit professionals and philanthropists, and she led the national symposium, “Building Civil Society Through Family Foundations: Next Generation Contributions.” She led creation of the development arm of the UW Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies.
Jeanan served as Vice President for Service Innovation with Dean Health System, where she developed programs focused on clinical practice management, patient advocacy, corporate philanthropy, and community health initiatives. Under her leadership, Dean’s Community Care Program became a nationally recognized health benefits counseling enterprise, receiving multiple awards for its innovative approach to improving community health.
Jeanan's expertise in health programming extends to her work with the Wisconsin State Department of Health, where, over many years, she collaborated on communications strategies related to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as participating in grant and program development for a federal Medicaid Transformation initiative.
Recognized for her leadership in healthcare and community change strategies, Jeanan has received accolades including being named a “Woman of Distinction” by the YWCA and being the first recipient of the Dane County/City of Madison Public Health “Leadership Award.” She has co-authored two books and several articles and served as a presenter at national and statewide forums.
Early in her career, Jeanan worked as a news reporter/anchor and assistant news director for the 15 News – the NBC television affiliate in Madison, WI.
Jeanan holds a M.Sc. in Consumer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.Sc. in Business and Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. She earned the designation of Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE).
Jeanan is a licensed private detective in the State of Wisconsin.
