About this event
Drawing on the latest coaching research and current practices in organizations, we’ll explore the emerging role of professional coaches as role models for cross-cultural awareness and competence. Together we will explore how coaches, both external and internal can use their presence and partnering skills to develop cross-cultural savviness by increasing awareness of self and others; using empathy to deepen rapport and trust; being present, open, and curious in interactions and listening actively to create interpersonal connection and understanding.
Learning Objectives:
Recognize the difference in cultural knowledge, awareness, and sensitivity.
Display personal cultural proficiency during coaching.
Distinguish the six stages of cultural competency.
Define intercultural communication and describe its importance in coaching
Participants will earn 1.5 Core Competency and .5 Resource Development CCEs for attending this program.
*This is a repeat of the program delivered in 2023 for ICF Wisconsin. With the extended time given, we will dive deeper into the subject matter.
Sheri Treu, ACC is the Director of Organizational Effectiveness with Menasha Corporation, located in Menasha, WI. She holds responsibility for all things culture, leadership development, forming and leading the Employee Resource Groups, Continuous Improvement and Equity, Inclusion and Diversity. Along with designing and delivering leadership development program, she is a Professional Certified Coach holding ACC through International Coaching Federation and coaches mid level managers to executives. After earning her Masters Degree in Learning and Organizational Development from Lakeland University she knew she wanted to expand her reach in developing others. As a lifelong learner, she wanted to share the knowledge, skills and insights she has gained in her 25+ years of leadership in Human Resources and Organizational Development. Her active involvement in many communities includes: Advisory Board member for Schreiber Institute of Women’s Leadership, Instructor in IWL Adv Certificate and Emerging Leaders Series, DEIB Champion for Global ICF, and Adjunct Professor at Lakeland University.
