A New Field in Coaching: Organizational Culture Coaching (OCC)

About this event

The session will define organizational culture coaching and why it is so important in the post-COVID era. Participants will understand how they can strengthen their coaching practice by bringing in culture coaching and contribute to their clients’ culture transformation. Participants will learn how Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is relevant to today’s organizations and the Maslowian approach to culture coaching.
This webinar will focus on the fundamental ideas of organizational culture coaching, allowing coaches to gain insight into this new field. Organizational culture coaching is an integral approach to working with an organizational client to develop and improve their workplace culture. With coaching being a key component of culture transformation, participants will learn about a systematic approach to coaching that explores the context in terms of the layers of the system. Participants will explore how to coach leaders or leadership teams of an organization to build collaboration and trust, cocreate effective culture practices, and assure ownership of the process and ongoing accountability.

This training will provide coaches with a new perspective to coaching and bring an awareness to the fundamentals of organizational culture coaching. It will also help participants develop a shared language and important concepts of the theory of needs, understanding self-actualization and team-actualization. Our insights will help executive, leadership, and team coaches better support their clients by considering the systems, context, and culture that surrounds them. With a new perspective in their toolkit, coaches can be more intentional about their practice. Lastly, this training will introduce specific OCC tools that measure an organization's culture-actualization, identify and visualize core focus areas for culture change, and facilitate culture action planning.

Learning objectives:

1. Understand what organizational culture coaching is and why it’s important
2. Understand the Hierarchy of Needs and how it’s relevant today
3. Identify how strategy, culture and influence are necessary to create a strong coaching framework

Participants will earn 1 Core Competency and .5 Resource Development CCEs for attending this program.
